Bridge to the Broken will carry out the following functions and activities:
•Offer support to families who have been or are being affected by a family member suffering from life controlling addictions (e.g. drugs, alcohol)
•Offer support to families who have been or are being affected by a family member serving time in prison.
•Actively collect and coordinate food/household hamper packs, particularly at Christmas and distribute these to the needy (hampers to include toys where young children included)
•Offer support to individuals (and their families) impacted/affected by bereavement, depression, loneliness, divorce and separation, debt and distress.
•Offer the use of the hall and facilities as a local venue for other established groups with similar aims to meet and work together to help tackle any of the above.
“Bridge to the Broken” already has volunteers working locally but will soon be based at the Bridge Church hall, Vaults Lane, Kilwinning. Work is currently underway to redecorate the hall, make the necessary alterations and purchase the necessary equipment. It is anticipated that the group will soon start to operate several mornings and evenings per week.
